Melissa Marks, RN CLC has worked in the field of maternal/neonatal nursing since 2003. She started as a new grad in postpartum nursing. Early in her career she attended the “Future of Birth” conference and learned more about the midwifery model of care. She excitedly sought care from a birth center with her first pregnancy. After maternity leave, she began working in labor and delivery passionately serving women desiring a low intervention, unmedicated hospital birth. She continued providing care in the hospital setting until 2013 when she came home full time. Melissa was grateful to join the Birth and Wellness Center team in 2016. She currently has six children, four of which have been born at home. She also enjoys working alongside her husband on their homestead and cherishes the opportunity to disciple her children from home. Melissa is active in her homeschool community and loves to encourage women in their mothering journey.
